FAQs

What is Dixit and how do you play?

Dixit is a storytelling party game. One player is the storyteller and gives a clue for a dream-like illustrated card; the others secretly pick a matching card from their hands, then everyone votes on which card is the storyteller's.

What artwork or themes are on the cards?

The cards feature surreal, whimsical, dream-like illustrations designed to spark imagination, making every round visually captivating as players create and match creative clues.

How long does a game take, and how many players?

About 30 minutes, for 3 to 6 players ages 8 and up. Dixit is easy to learn in seconds, making it a fit for family game nights and adult gatherings.

Can one person play this alone?

No. Dixit is designed for 3-6 players ages 8 and up, a storytelling, matching, and voting game best for family game nights, parties, and group play, not solo.

Can you add expansions?

Yes. You can add other themed Dixit expansion packs to keep storytelling fresh, and this edition includes updated trays for storing add-on expansions neatly.

From the manufacturer

Dixit is the award-winning storytelling board game that turns creative imagination into competitive fun for adults, families, and kids alike. One player becomes the storyteller, choosing a card from their hand featuring stunning dream-like artwork and giving a clue: a word, phrase, sound, or gesture. Other players secretly choose a card from their own hands that best matches the clue. All cards are revealed face-up and players vote on which card belongs to the storyteller. Score points for clever clues that are neither too obvious nor too obscure, and score points for fooling other players into picking your card.
